Helllo, I am Joana and I was born and raised in Setúbal, a charming fishing and beach town nestled between the stunning Arrábida Mountain Range and the Atlantic Ocean, just south of Lisbon.

I’ve been working as a Certified Tour Guide in Portugal since 2008, based in Setúbal and Lisbon, guiding in both English and Spanish.

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with travellers from all over the world; from private guests and small groups to larger and all types of international groups, always tailoring each experience to the people I meet along the way. My background also includes extensive experience with incentive travel, congresses, and the MICE segment, both in Portugal and abroad, which has shaped my approach to be flexible, attentive, and detail-oriented.

Beyond guiding, I have a deep passion for cooking, photography and for Portuguese cultural identity: its traditions, flavours, and stories. That’s what inspires me every day: the opportunity to share the true essence of Portugal in a genuine and engaging way with those who choose to visit.

On the other hand, working in the Arrábida and Setúbal region; a place of true authenticity that I’m proud to call home, allows me to express my personal approach to guiding: local, genuine, and meaningful. I offer not only guided tours, but also tailored travel advice, creating experiences that help each visitor connect with the region in a unique and memorable way.
